Interaction‐Free Quantum Spectroscopy

Interaction-free measurement (IFM)-based single-photon interference is developed as a powerful platform for revealing object information in quantum metrology, where the presence of sample identified without photon “touching” an interferometer. Herein, method obtaining spectroscopic properties with interaction-free spectroscopy (IFQS) based on spectrum-correlated pairs by spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) proposed and implemented. Infrared signal photons around 1557 nm from SPDC are sent to Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI), which contains semitransparent one arms. The transmission spectrum characterized recording coincidence detection near-infrared heralding 808 SPDC. IFQS can not only distinguish existence but also recognize its interaction. approach unlocks potential facilitate applications correlation-based reduce power-induced optical damage fragile materials.
